Min. Brian Lenihan Launches 3rd Report of hotline.ie (News Item)

27/02/2006

The Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children, Brian Lenihan T.D., today launched the Third Report of the Irish Hotline.
The Hotline is operated by the Internet Service Providers' Association of Ireland, as part of a self regulatory regime supervised by the Internet Advisory Board. The Hotline accepts and processes reports from the public in relation to illegal and harmful material on the internet, particularly in relation to child pornography.

Welcoming the report, the Minister said that he views the service that it provides as a crucial part of our battle against illegal content on the internet in general, and against the evil that is child pornography in particular.
